
PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — Calvert County agencies are hosting a school supply and hygiene product drive the first week of June to help families get off on the right foot next school year.
The drive will take place from June 1 to July 8. Anyone donating supplies can drop them off in the Calvert County Health Department’s lobby, as well as at CalvertHealth Medical Center, the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office, Calvert County Office on Aging senior centers, Calvert County Parks & Recreation, the Calvert County Health Department, CalvertHealth Outpatient Rehab and Calvert County libraries.
All donations must be new, unused items only. Organizers cannot accept previously used or open products for health and safety reasons.
Here are the most needed items:
School Supplies
- Backpacks for various ages
- Binders
- Paper
- Packs of pens
- Packs of pencils
- Folders
- Pencil pouches
- Highlighters
- Erasers
- Pencil sharpeners
- Packs of crayons
Hygiene Products
- Shampoo and conditioner
- Body wash
- Laundry detergent
- Face wash and cleanser
- Full-sized dental products
- Deodorant
- Feminine hygiene products
- Mouthwash
All of the donations will go toward supporting local families. School supplies and hygiene drives help support families by relieving some of the financial burden needed to get kids ready for the school year and can help kids succeed by removing stigma and stress to help them build confidence and succeed academically.
