SOUTHERN MARYLAND — Summer is officially underway, and communities across Calvert, Charles and St. Mary’s counties are packed with ways to celebrate. This week features Juneteenth events, Father’s Day weekend activities, family festivals, outdoor movies, local history programs and plenty of free summer fun. The 2026 NAS Patuxent River Air Show returns with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, drawing thousands of visitors to Southern Maryland and giving residents another reason to plan ahead for traffic while enjoying one of the region’s biggest annual events.

2026 NAS Patuxent River Air Show, June 19-21 (BASE ACCESS ONLY June 19) general public (9 a.m.–gates open, flying demonstrations 11 a.m.), Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Lexington Park, Md.
