On Sunday hundreds turned out for a beautiful afternoon of gastronomical delights at the Historic waterfront in St. Mary’s City for “A Taste of St. Mary’s.” It was a chance to sample local fare offered from restaurants and caterers in the county, and also a way to raise money for local healthcare scholarships.

The menu ranged from the requisite county delicacies of oysters and stuffed ham to more exotic chipotle chicken and Mexican and Asian influences. There was music, dancing, vintage cars, face painting, magic, and auctions besides. The event raised funds for twelve full healthcare scholarships in St. Maryโ€™s County to help talented local students become exceptional medical professionals serving their own community.
