Despite the hot, sultry weather conditions, the annual Solomons Island fireworks drew a large crowd on the St. Mary’s Cunty side of the Patuxent River.
When the fireworks began, several older children began singing “Happy Birthday America!” while watching the display and most said they enjoyed this annual event.
When the man-made display ended, mother nature began a display of her own in the form of lightning flashes in the distance.
