The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs took on the Camden Riversharks in the third installment of their three-game set,ย Saturdayย evening at Campbellโs Field in Camden, NJ. After almost pulling off the comeback the night before, the Blue Crabs called upon lefty, Logan Williamson, to get the Blue Crabs back to their winning ways. Aiming to continue their success against the Blue Crabs in the series, the Riversharks called upon a lefty of their own in Miguel Martinez, who was making his first start for the โsharks after being acquired from the Bridgeport Bluefishย on Tuesday. After taking a 3-1 lead into the ninth inning, the Blue Crabs werenโt able to hang on as the Riversharks would strike for four in the ninth and walk-off with a 4-3 victory.
The Riversharks would score first in the bottom of the third against LHP Logan Williamson when Camden catcher, Michael Albaladejo, would come around to score on a sac-fly after reaching on a Crabs error. Williamson would settle down and pitch six dominant frames in which he allowed just three hits and three walks while striking out four.
The Blue Crabs offense would strike for a run in the fifth, six, and eighth innings. Designated hitter, Brian Barton, would homer for the second straight night when he launched a solo shot in the fifth. ย In the following frame, Sean Smith would single and eventually steal third and come around to score on a Renny Osuna. Osuna would pick up his second RBI of the night in the eighth inning on a run scoring double that would score Smith again.
The three runs wouldnโt be enough however as the Riversharks would storm back in the bottom of the ninth to score three runs of their own. The Riversharks would tally three runs in the ninth on just two hits and two huge Blue Crabs errors. First basemen, Delwyn Young, would single up the middle to score CF Billy Rice from third to walk-off with the 4-3 victory.
