ACQUOLINA COOKING CLASS
The Culinary Experience Corsi di Cucina (Cooking Class) with Chef Marika Contaldo Seguso at the luxury bed and breakfast Villa Ines in Lido, Venezia, was one of the highlights of our 2013 trip to Italy. Weโd stayed at the Villa Ines for 5 days in March of 2012, but did have time to sign up for the cooking class; this year we were going to be sure to put it on our โto doโ list!
So on the sixth day of our 2013 stay in Venice, we registered for an Acquolina Catering and Event Management class (www.acquolina.com). ย Because we were guests at the Villa Ines, we received a 10% discount from the 150 euros fee.ย (We were told later on during our trip that Venetian cooking classes priced at 450 euros and above were not uncommon!).
Our class was calledย Venetian Vegetables and Homemade Pasta, and we began atย 10:30ย in the morning of .ย Participants included myself and my American friend, Anne, a young couple from Poland, and one other couple and their 3 teenaged children.
The planned recipes for the day were as follows:
–Verdurine Fritteย (Venetian Vegetables Tempura โ asparagus, leeks, eggplant, artichokes, red bell peppers, sage, zucchini flowers, and porcini mushrooms);
–Tagliatelle con Datterini Caramellati e Basilicoย (Tagliatelle with Caramelized Tomatoes and Basil);
