
CHAPTICO, Md. — A driver was airlifted to a trauma center following a single-vehicle crash involving a Chevrolet Camaro early Wednesday morning, April 29, 2026, in the Chaptico area.
Emergency crews were dispatched around 6:00 a.m. to the intersection of Maddox Road and Annies Lane for a reported crash with possible entrapment. A female caller advised she was injured, reporting head and thigh pain.
Upon arrival, first responders located a black Chevrolet Camaro that had left the roadway and struck a utility pole. Despite initial concerns, no extrication was required.
Due to the reported injuries, a helicopter was requested. A landing zone was established at Longview Boulevard and Maddox Road in Bushwood, where Maryland State Police Aviation Command Trooper 2 landed and transported the patient to an area trauma center.
Units from Company 5 and EMS handled the incident while crews remained on scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
