WALDORF, Md. — A Waldorf woman is facing multiple felony charges after authorities say she threatened two individuals with a knife during a confrontation outside a shopping center in St. Charles.
Trevia Symone Chase, 22, of Waldorf, Maryland, was arrested on April 23, 2026, and charged with two counts of first-degree assault, according to court documents.
Deputies responded around 12:00 a.m. to the area of Papa John’s Pizza along Smallwood Drive West after reports of a disturbance involving a weapon.
According to the statement of probable cause, an officer arriving on scene observed a group of people yelling when Chase allegedly approached while holding a knife with a blade approximately four inches long. The officer reported that Chase held the knife in front of her at chest level and was threatening individuals nearby.
Investigators say Chase had been arguing with one individual before allegedly holding the knife to that person’s throat and making threats. She then turned toward a second individual, approached within a few feet, and threatened to stab them as well.
One of the individuals told deputies they feared they were going to be stabbed, while another reported Chase exited a vehicle and advanced toward them while swinging the knife and making verbal threats.
Chase was taken into custody without further incident.
Court records show she is being held without bond following a bail review hearing on April 27, 2026, before Judge H. Richard Duden III.
Under Maryland law, first-degree assault is a felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison per count.
A preliminary hearing is set for May 27, 2026 in Charles District Court.
