Calvert County Department of Public Safety Urges Citizens to

Exercise Care During and After Hurricane Irene

While Southern Marylanders continue to experience the effects of Hurricane Irene, the Board of County Commissioners urges citizens to exercise caution once recovery and clean-up efforts commence:

·         Be aware of wind changes; a lull in the storm is not an indication that the storm has passed. Winds may resume suddenly in the opposite direction.

·         Never drive your vehicle into areas where water covers the roadway. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful enough to sweep vehicles off the road.
