Clements, MD – On Friday, Dec. 26, St. Mary’s County Deputy McCuen responded to a residence on Point Lookout Road, for a reported assault. The victim alleged he went to a residence on Horseshoe Road in Clements to pick up a friend.

The victim stayed in the car while another subject went to the residence. While the victim was sitting in the car suspect Donald Earl Phares, 38, of Clements, approached the driverโ€™s window with what the victim believed was a gun and ordered the victim to open the door.

When the victim opened the car door Phares stuck the gun into the victimโ€™s side and told him to leave the property. Phares then pointed the gun away from the victim and toward the ground before firing off a round. Phares was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Maryโ€™s County Detention Center.

Phares was charged with first Degree Assault, second-degree assault, and reckless endangerment.ย
