On Sunday, June 3, 2012 at 12:00am, TFC E. R. Mersman responded to the area of Maryland Route 235 and Mount Zion Church Road in Mechanicsville for a report of a possible intoxicated driver. Once in the area, TFC Mersman observed a vehicle matching the description provided by the St. Maryโs County Emergency Communications Center. TFC Mersman observed the vehicle prior to conducting a traffic stop in the area of Clover Hill Road. Upon approaching the vehicle, contact was made with Judith Carol Holt, 50, of Huntingtown, who appeared in a daze. TFC Mersman had Ms. Holt exit the vehicle and perform a standardized field sobriety test which she was unsuccessful in passing. Ms. Holt was subsequently arrested, prior to being transported from the scene, Ms. Holt asked for specific items out of the vehicle. Her request for the items was not immediately granted, as there was a canine in the vehicle that prevented TFC Mersman from retrieving the items. An additional unit standing by for Animal Control advised the items would be transported to the Leonardtown Barrack once Animal Control cleared the scene. Ms. Holt was transported to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack where she was processed; upon custody being taken of the personal belongings she requested an inventory was conducted revealing that within the wallet was CDS โ Not Marijuana. Ms. Holt was additionally charged with the Possession of the CDS and transported to the St. Maryโs County Detention Center. She was processed and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
