Update 9/2/13 11:39am:
On September 1, 2013 at approximately 9:00 pm, Shirley Jordan (age 63) of Great Mills was walking across Three Notch Rd. in the area of Mattapany Rd.
While crossing the street, she was struck by a 1994 Chevrolet Sport Van operated by Cong Nguyen (age 43) of Virginia. Jordan was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction team assumed the investigation. Alcohol and speed do not appear to be a contributing factor in the accident.

Rescue crews responded on September 1 at 8:57 p.m.to Three Notch Road and St. James in Lexington Park for a serious motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian.
CPR was performed on the pedestrian at the scene but was unsuccessful .
