At 5:40 a.m. on June 4, Officer R. Kimble of the Charles County Sheriffโs Office responded to St. Patrickโs Drive and Smallwood Drive West in Waldorf for the report of a motor vehicle crash.
Investigation revealed a Chevrolet 1500 pick-up truck was traveling west on St. Patrickโs Drive when the driver lost control while attempting to negotiate a turn, crossed the center line and struck a curb and several trees.
The driver, Francis Clayton Knott, Jr., 22, of Waldorf and his passenger, Michael Donnavon Tabor, 24, of White Plains, fled the scene on foot toward Lancaster Circle. They were found by officers a short time later walking in the area and Knott was found to be intoxicated.
