Lexington Park, MD – On Thursday, Aug. 27 at 10:10 a.m., Cpl. Kristi Nelson, School Resource officer for Great Mills High School, responded to a fight involving three students inside the school.
Nelson immediately attempted to break up the fight and was assaulted. Nelson called for additional officers to respond.
Several additional officers arrived at the school within minutes and the three students involved in the fight were taken into custody.
No serious injuries were reported. All police officers have left and the school has resumed normal activities.
