Southern Calvert Baptist Church, 12140 H.G. Trueman Road in Lusby, will offer its Son Harvest County Fair Vacation Bible School with a kickoff after Sunday services on July 13,

noon to 3 p.m. The school, for children from kindergarten to fifth grade, will run from Monday, July 14, to Friday, July 18, from 6 to 8:15 p.m.
Spiritual life will be explored using farming and agricultural themes and teachings from Galatians 5:22-23. “Students will learn about love, joy, peace, gentleness, kindness and patience,” said the Rev. Steve Fehrman, pastor, adding that often “kids need patience.”
School time is broken into sessions. There is Bible time, craft time, game and snack time, and participants rotate through the different sessions by age groupings. “We usually have a wonderful time,” said Cheryl Green, an administrative staff member.
Participants can join the Bible school after it starts. “It is designed so participants will gain something no matter when they come.” Green said, adding “absolutely, anyone is welcome anytime.”Interested parties can register at the kickoff celebration on July 13 or before school starts on July 14.
