Shortly after 9 a.m., St. Mary’s Sheriffs responded to a personal injury accident at 22607 Three Notch Road in Lexington Park.
Two vehicles were involved in the accident. One vehicle struck a SMECO utility pole leaving wires to lie across Route 235. The car battery in one of the vehicles exploded, leaving the patient covered in water and battery acid.
One patient was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital with minor injuries.
Units from Lexington Park, Bay District and Hollywood all responded to the scene.
No word on the cause of the crash or if any charges will be made. The accident was cleared shortly after 10 a.m.
The investigation continues.
