UPDATE – 3:15 p.m. – Deputies request EMS to remain on the scene as students are transferred to another bus to ensure parents that want their child checked out.

UPDATE – 2:50 p.m. – EMS has been requested back to the scene to check out students for possible injuries.  The driver of the vehicle has been transported to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital.

The school bus is disabled from the accident. A replacement bus is enroute to transport the students home.

LEXINGTON PARK, Md. – Today, at approximately 2:15 p.m., police, fire and rescue personnel responded to the motor vehicle accident involving a school bus on Three Notch Road at the intersection of Hermanville Road.

Crews arrived to find the school bus and one passenger vehicle involved. The bus (#646) is full of students from Spring Ridge Middle School, reporting no injuries on-board. The driver of the passenger vehicle is being evaluated for injuries by EMS on the scene.

Use caution in the area, and stay alert for emergency vehicles.
