Avenue, MD – Firefighters from St. Mary’s County were dispatched around 7 a.m. Thursday morning, Nov. 12 to a house fire reported in the Avenue area. There are reports at least two people have safely exited the home. At 8 a.m., there were reports that the two occupants were transported to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital for checkups.
Reports received indicate a malfunctioning furnace may have caused the fire, which is now believed to be under control.
