Obituary

Alexander Earl Letcher, 80, of Brandywine, MD, passed away peacefully at home on November 26, 2024, surrounded by his family. Alexander affectionately known as “Skip” was born on February 19, 1944, to Alex Louise Letcher and Elizabeth Jane Roberts in Washington, DC. 

Skip and his wife Bern shared a blended family and had 41 wonderful years together. 

He is survived by his wife Bern and five children, Ronald Letcher (Christine), Dee Letcher, Melinda Neumer (Derrick), John Cross, and Ronnie Robinson. Grandchildren, Angela, Kristina, Alex, Rebecca, Allen, Brian, Alexis, Haley, Addison, and Avery. Great-grandchildren, Carter, Emilia, Scarlett, Olivia, Rayne, and Kinsley, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister Naomi Thompson (Ronald). He was preceded in death by his sister Betty Ann Ellis.

Skip grew up in Brandywine and ventured into a variety of businesses. Building homes, owning a sports shop, auto body shop, building rides at Six Flags, and playing drums and singing in a band. 

He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping, and playing a good game of pitch and poker. 

Skip truly lived life to the fullest. He was loved by all who knew him and will forever remain in our hearts and memories. 

A celebration of Skip’s life will be held on March 22, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Baden Fire Department 16608 Brandywine Rd. Brandywine, MD 20613.
