Cory Michael McAndrew

Clements, MD— On Feb.28, St.Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Cpl.John Kirkner responded to ABC Gas Station located at Coltons Point Road in Clements for the report of burglarย alarms, activated first from the cash register alarm followed by a front entry alarm.ย 

When Kirkner arrived on the scene, he observed the front glass window had been shattered. According to charging documents, “a witness observed a male wearing a red and white ball cap and black vest enter in through the front window, which he broke with a break metal drum, grab a stack of lottery tickets and exit out the same window.”ย 

The victim estimated the damage to the window to be $1,000. The victim estimated the value of stolen lottery tickets to be $3,300. The defendant was identified as Cory Michael McAndrew, 25, of Lusby. McAndrew was wearing the same clothing observed by the witness and on the business security video.ย 

Arriving deputies made contact with McAndrew, who was found to be still in possession of the lottery tickets. McAndrew was charged with second-degree burglary, malicious destruction of property less than $1,000 ย and theft less than $10,000.ย 

McAndrew faces a maximum jail sentence of 25 years and two months and/or a maximum fine of $10,500.ย
