MARYLAND – Angela Alsobrooks and Larry Hogan will go head-to-head in the general election for Maryland’s open Senate seat.
Prince George’s County Executive Alsobrooks won the Democratic primary securing 54.02% of votes. On the other hand, Rep. David Trone, who spent approximately $61 million of his own money on his campaign, received 41.88% of votes.
“Thank you to everyone who worked their tails for over a year because they believed in our campaign’s message to put People over Politics,” said Trone via his social media pages.
“That vision isn’t lost — we must carry it with us as we move forward, together, to beat Larry Hogan and defend our Senate Majority.”
“Safety is so much more than just reducing crime. I understood the urgency to address the issues that brought people to the courthouse in the first place. I understood about failing schools health care that’s too expensive and out of reach a lack of treatment for addiction and mental health struggles and jobs that didn’t pay a livable wage. These are the issues that I’ve focused on as Prince George’s County Executive and I am so proud of the progress that we’ve been able to make in education. We’ve broken ground on 10 new schools, we’ve built the county’s first cancer treatment and addiction center, we brought a major investment like the brand new FBI headquarters to Maryland,” Alsobrooks stated during her primary victory party.
“So I want to take a moment and if you allow me, I have to acknowledge the super bad and incredible people of Prince George’s County. You should know that you are the heart and soul of our campaign. Your faith in me as a prosecutor, County Executive, and now candidate for Senate is something that I will never take for granted but there’s more work to do.”
Meanwhile, former two-time Governor Larry Hogan secured the GOP nomination with an overwhelming 61.88% of votes.
“I want to thank the people across the great state of Maryland for your support. Our campaign for Maryland and America’s future begins now,” stated Hogan via social media.
“The Washington politicians win by perpetuating polarization, but Maryland is known as the state of middle temperament. We believe in common decency and common sense. I come from the get-to-work and get-things-done school, and I’ll work with anyone who wants to do the people’s business.”
Hogan also had a message for his opponent.
“I want to congratulate County Executive Alsobrooks on her nomination. I know Angela well, and I value our respectful relationship. I look forward to a real debate on what this campaign is about: who can actually help fix the mess in Washington,” said Hogan.
The general election will take place on November 5th.

We had the best experience for a incoming
None in your thoughts of careful experience finally realized that a man came in and decided to change the situation,, The man running around saying MAGG is doing something for a change pthat is needed in our country.
Please,, people are jumping off because the devide is so crooked,,
Vote forD T be careful, Joe Biden is finished and trepeing on his age.
Hogan was a good governor partly due to having a supermajority of Democrats in the Md Senate who could override anything he vetoed. What he would or wouldn’t do on Capitol Hill is a whole ‘nother question.
please be prepared in november, that will have a question about the Maryland Constitution. HealthnotHarmMD.org has been set up to deal with it. the overturning of Roe v. WAde (Dobbs) did nothing about Marylands right to life laws.
about the Dobbs decision, have you noticed backwards its sobbd sbbod (sobbed). Yeah, I bet theres been alot of sobbing about this issue.
