Huntingtown, MD – Numerous farm animals died Thursday evening, March 28 when fire destroyed a pole barn on Carla Drive in Huntingtown, state investigators reported. The blaze was reported at 10:23 p.m. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office, an electrical malfunction in a horse stall sparked the fire, which caused $150,000 damage to the wood-framed structure and its contents. Forty firefighters from Huntingtown were dispatched and brought the flames under control in 30 minutes.

Huntingtown, MD – A barn fire in Calvert County Thursday evening, March 28 resulted in the loss of several farm animals, local fire and rescue officials reported. According to the St. Leonard Volunteer Fire Department public information officer, the blaze on Carla Drive in Huntingtown was reported at approximately 10:23p.m.
