ANNAPOLIS, Md.ย – Anne Arundel County food courts got the go-ahead to reopen on Friday. County Executive Steuart Pittman signed the order on Thursday.
Pittman said he made the decision after consulting with county health officials about the latest COVID-19 numbers.
Food courts are limited to 50 percent of their normal capacity. Additionally, the order moves the closing time for bars and restaurants that serve alcohol from 10 pm to 11 pm. Alcohol service must stop at 10 pm.
โAs we continue to fight the spread of this virus, we will also look for targeted actions to reopen safely,โ said County Executive Pittman. โWe believe the malls have a good plan in place for the food courts, and we are pleased to extend restaurant dining hours by one hour. Now we need to keep up the effort to keep our case rate low – please continue to wear face coverings and practice social distance.โ
The new rules go into effect at 5 pm on Friday, October 2.
