According to emergency personnel, the vehicle left the road, struck and broke a utility pole at at around 1:40 a.m., and her Saturn passenger car then continued on and rolled over. The patient was treated and transported to St Marys Hospital by Ambulance 399 with non-lifethreatening injuries, and it appeared at the time no charges were filed. She was not carrying any passengers.
The accident bears an eerie resemblance to a Feb. 10 crash that claimed the lives of David Joseph Kimball, 25, of Chaptico and William Clayton Flanary, 27, of California, whose vehicle failed to negotiate a curve, left the southbound side of the roadway, struck a tree, and overturned into the roadway. Both men were taken for treatment by helicopter, but later died from their injuries.
