Applications are now being accepted from high school seniors in the Maryland, Virginia and District of Columbia area who wish to apply for and education scholarship from My Sisterโ€™s Keeper to assist with post secondary education costs.ย 

The My Sisterโ€™s Keeper Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of scholastic excellence, financial need and community service.

To be considered for a scholarship from MSK, the applicant must be a high school student with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and in good academic and administrative standing at his or her current institute of education.ย ย 

Applications will be evaluated according to the following criteria:ย 

Must be a graduating senior during the 2008-2009 school year.ย ย ย 

Must submit a completed application by designated deadline.ย 

Must have a 3.0 or greater grade point average from the time of application through he completion of the 12th grade.ย ย ย 

Must submit proof of community service activities in the form of a letter on official organization letterhead.ย 

Must submit two letters of recommendations from community representatives including, but not limited to a supervisor, religious leader, teacher or counselor.ย 

Must submit scholarship application by March 31, 2009ย
