Applications are now being accepted from high school seniors in the Maryland, Virginia and District of Columbia area who wish to apply for and education scholarship from My Sister’s Keeper to assist with post secondary education costs.
The My Sister’s Keeper Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of scholastic excellence, financial need and community service.
To be considered for a scholarship from MSK, the applicant must be a high school student with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and in good academic and administrative standing at his or her current institute of education.
Applications will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
Must be a graduating senior during the 2008-2009 school year.
Must submit a completed application by designated deadline.
Must have a 3.0 or greater grade point average from the time of application through he completion of the 12th grade.
Must submit proof of community service activities in the form of a letter on official organization letterhead.
Must submit two letters of recommendations from community representatives including, but not limited to a supervisor, religious leader, teacher or counselor.
Must submit scholarship application by March 31, 2009
To apply for a scholarship, please fill out the application located at the My Sister’s Keeper Web site at www.mysisters-keeper.org. Completed applications must be submitted by March 31.
