The Charles County Sheriff’s Office has obtained arrest warrants for Ryne Vesley Gould, 31 of Brookland, and Anthony Daniel Plummer, 40 of Washington, D.C., two men involved in an armed robbery in Waldorf in May 2006.

On May 30, 2006 at 10:47 a.m., sheriff’s officers responded to Bob’s Trading, 2106 Crain Highway in Waldorf, for the armed robbery report. The initial investigation revealed two masked gunmen entered the business and confronted the clerk, who began struggling with one of the suspects. Meanwhile, the other suspect broke a glass display case and stole about $30,000 worth of jewelry and a handgun. The two suspects fled prior to officers’ arrival. The sheriff’s office collected DNA evidence at the scene, which was later sent to the Maryland State Police Forensic Science Laboratory for analysis. The clerk was treated at Southern Maryland Hospital Center for non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives believed the robbery could be connected to similar robberies that had occurred previously at pawn shops in nearby jurisdictions. Additional robberies occurred later including one on June 21 in Laurel. Four suspects in the Laurel robbery, including Gould and Plummer, were located and arrested later that day in Washington, D.C.

On June 28, the sheriff’s office obtained a search warrant to collect the four suspects’ DNA and in August 2008, the Sheriff’s Office was notified that Gould’s and Plummer’s DNA positively matched the DNA collected at the scene of the Charles County robbery.

On Aug. 27, sheriff’s detectives obtained arrest warrants charging Gould and Plummer with armed robbery, using a handgun in the commission of a violent crime, first- and second-degree assault and theft valued at more than $30,000. Gould is being held in the Montgomery County Detention Center on unrelated charges but Plummer’s whereabouts are unknown. Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at (301) 609-6515 or Charles County Crime Solvers at (866) 411-TIPS. Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to Plummer’s arrest.
