Maryland State Fire Marshalls are investigating a case of arson at Westlake High School in Waldorf.
Investigation revealed on Sept. 15 around 12:50 p.m., a small fire was discovered in a trashcan located in a female restroom. A faculty member extinguished the fire, which was confined to the trash can. The fire did not set the alarm or sprinkler system off, due to it being discovered so early.
The fire remains under investigation. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the State Fire Marshall Southern Regional Office at (443) 550-6820.
