On July 19, deputies responded to Horse Shoe Road in Clements for a report of a disturbance.
Investigation revealed Robert Fitzgerald Carter, 45 of Clements, was in a verbal altercation with the victim, which escalated into a physical assault when Carter smashed the victim’s head into a wall.
Carter was arrested and charged with second-degree assault.
