Attempted theft of local store leads to drug arrest

California, MD–Deputy S. LeFave responded to the Best Buy in California, for a reported theft in progress. The suspect, Gina Patricia Kennedy, age 26, of Chaptico, attempted to leave the store without paying for merchandise.

Kennedy presented a false Maryland Identification Card to the officer during her arrest. A search of Kennedy revealed strips consistent with Suboxone. Kennedy was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center.

She was charged with Theft under $1000, CDS Possession: Not Marijuana, and False Statement to Officer.
