Seniors age 60 and older are invited to showcase their vocal talent, and be an inspiration to others by auditioning for the 7th Annual Maryland Senior Idol Competition.ย Auditions will be held Tuesday, November 27, and Wednesday, November 28, from 10 a.m. to Noon, at the Waldorf Senior Center located at 3092 Crain Highway in Waldorf. Auditions will be scheduled in 15-minute intervals to allow for the performance and the judging.
Two seniors will be selected to represent Charles County at the Maryland State Senior Idol Competition on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, 1-3 p.m., at the Bowie Center for Performing Arts. This year’s event is hosted by the Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Prince George’s County, Department of Parks and Recreation. This is an amateur vocal contest.
Audition Rules:
- Songs must be no longer than 3 minutes. Auditions are 15 minutes to allow time for performance and judging.
- Contestants must be Charles County residents age 60 years of and older.
- Contestants may not currently have any of the following: contract for singing representation or current music recording contract, been paid to sing in a national television or radio show or commercial, or have had 13 or more weeks of employment as a singer in the past year.
