On Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at approximately 7:00 am, the Dunkirk Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad (Co. 5) and ambulances from Huntingtown (Co. 6) and North Beach (Co. 1) responded to intersection of Route 4 South and Chaneyville Road.
There were three vehicles involved and one was just waiting at Chaneyville Road.
Two vehicles had impact at the intersection and one vehicle made minor contact with truck waiting on Chaneyville Road.
There was one person transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital and the rest of the individuals involved signed refusals/release and no transport was required.
Even with access from Chaneyville Road to Route 4 shut down and the right lane of Route 4 South, the police (State & County) along with others were able to keep the flow of traffic moving. Once the tow trucks arrived, the vehicles were quickly removed to open up more traffic flow, as there were still many buses existing from Chaneyville Road because of the schools just down the street, great job.
