Shortly after noon today, the operator of a piece of heavy equipment driving south on Route 235 lost control and crashed into a car.
The backhoe driver, who apparently didn’t speak English, was reportedly operating the unit at a high rate of speed in the left lane when he lost control and skidded across three lanes into a passenger vehicle, sending it up on the curb.
The backhoe ended up on its side after the impact
There were no injuries. The St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
