SOLOMONS, Md. — The Calvert Marine Museum is excited to announce that rising country artist Wesko will open for Warren Zeiders at the July 24 concert at the Motto Mortgage Preferred and RE/MAX One Waterside Pavilion.
Hailing from Duplin County in southeastern North Carolina, Wesko (born Wesley Keith Holmes) is quickly gaining attention for his gritty, heartfelt approach to country music. Blending traditional influences with a modern perspective, his songs offer an honest look at life in 21st century America — touching on everything from heartbreak and hardship to celebration and resilience.
Raised on a mix of ’90s rock and classic country, Wesko found his musical footing after picking up a guitar while working on the road at age 19. Within a year, he was writing songs, and by 21 he made his stage debut in Nashville — captivating audiences with stripped-down performances that highlight his raw talent.
Since then, Wesko has continued to build momentum, performing at the Concert for Carolina benefit at the request of Luke Combs and releasing a series of compelling singles, including “Mr. Tennessee,” a song that captures the emotional pull of home and the complexities of long-distance love.
Wesko’s songwriting is rooted in authenticity, reflecting the people, places and experiences that have shaped his life and music.
Fans can expect an unforgettable night of live country music as Wesko kicks off the evening ahead of Warren Zeiders, one of the genre’s fastest-rising stars.
Tickets for Waterside Music Series events are sold exclusively through Etix, the museum’s verified ticketing platform. Tickets purchased through third-party resellers cannot be verified by the Calvert Marine Museum.
