At 2:10 p.m. Sept. 19, Charles County Sheriffโ€™s officers responded to a residence in the 8600 block of King George Court in White Plains.

Investigation revealed James McNeil Wilson, III, 42, of Pomfret drove his vehicle through his neighborโ€™s fence and into their driveway.

He then fled into his residence, retrieved a shotgun and fired one shot through a rear glass door.

After officers secured the perimeter, they telephoned Wilson and asked him to come outside. Wilson exited his residence unarmed and was arrested without further incident.

Officers found Wilson to be intoxicated. He was charged with reckless endangerment, destruction of property valued at more than $500, driving while impaired and driving under the influence of alcohol. He was being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before a district court commissioner.
