The caring staff of Bay Community Support Services, Inc.(BAYCSS) gave of their own time and money to ensure that every BAYCSS consumer would have gifts to open Christmas morning.
ย
Many of the agencyโs consumers are without family or have families who are unable to provide for more than their basic needs. Larry Palmer, a long-time consumer who receives Residential Services from BAYCSS and resides in one of the agencyโs group homes in Charles County, is one such person.
ย
Janet Smith, Director of Operations for BAYCSS, played Secret Santa, and granted a special wish that Larry had made to own his very own bike. Since Larry still believes in Santa, great care was taken to keep the special gift a secret. The gift was brought to the home, but stayed hidden in the back of the agency van until the perfect time to secretly place it under the tree. A fun outing to a local ice cream shop was arranged to keep Larry away while Santaโs helpers, the homeโs supervisor and staff, delivered all the gifts for the residents of the home. Larry was so excited when he discovered his favorite gift from Santa under the tree that he wanted to go for a ride right away. Now going for daily rides on his new blue bike is an activity he looks forward to every day.
