At 12:02 pm, on Tuesday, January 9, TFC Trossbach was patrolling on Rt. 247 in the area of Busy Corner Rd. He observed the operator of a 1998 Ford F-150 pickup truck not wearing his seat belt.
A routine traffic stop was initiated for the equipment violation. Contact was made with the driver, Joseph Kane Frank, 18, of Mechanicsville. A probable cause search was conducted of the driver and vehicle.
A CDS smoking device was recovered from Mr. Frank’s person. A search incident to arrest revealed another CDS smoking device and some cocaine was recovered from the vehicle.
Mr. Frank was arrested for possession of cocaine and CDS paraphernalia. He was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center in Leonardtown pending a bond review.
