11:28 p.m., on February 16, TPR Towers was dispatched to Mom & Pop’s on Broomes Island Road, for a burglar alarm.
Upon approaching the store, TPR Towers observed a vehicle pull out of the parking lot at a high rate of speed. He also observed that the drive-thru window had been broken out.
TPR Towers pursued the suspect vehicle, finally stopping it on Mackall Road.
Upon contact with the occupants, TPR Towers observed blood on the passenger’s hand.
Arrested at that time for 2nd degree burglary and destruction of property were Kevin Andrew Batson, 25, of Lusby, and Kyle Robert Barchers, 23, of St. Leonard.
Incident to arrest, an inventory of the vehicle produced suspected crack-cocaine, a digital scale, and CDS paraphernalia. Both men were then additionally charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of cocaine, and possession of CDS paraphernalia.
After processing, the two were transported to the CCDC to await a commissioner’s hearing.
