The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs continued their three-game series against the Camden Riversharks when they met in the second game of the their Wednesdayย night at Regency Furniture Stadium. After dropping the first gameย Tuesdayย night, the Blue Crabs called upon left-handed pitcher, Wade Korpi, to get back to their winning ways. The Riversharks gave the ball to righty Joey Williamson as they desperately make one final push for the playoffs.
After surrendering two runs in the top-half of the third inning, the Blue Crabs answered right back in the home half, putting four runs on the board and taking the lead. The inning was highlighted first by Alvin Colinaโs 12th home run of the season as he blasted a two-run shot deep off of the picnic pavilion tent in left field. Third basemen, Nick Schwaner, later followed with a two-run double that scored SS Renny Osuna and RF Sean Smith.
The lead did not last however as the Riversharks stormed back for a run in the fourth and then two runs in the fifth inning to take a 5-4 lead. The fifth inning runs came compliments of Danny Bombackโs two-run double to deep centerfield. A two-run home run in seventh by Pascucci furthered the โsharks lead as they would hold on late to a 8-5 victory.
