Bowie, MD – October 23, 2019, With help from volunteer Officers from the Department, this effort was in support of the Maryland Highway Safety Office program geared towards protecting pedestrians and bike riders on the roadway. Utilizing marked/unmarked cars as well as radar and laser speed measuring devices, Officers made 18 traffic stops and issued 17 citations, 2 repair orders, and 9 warnings for various offenses ranging from speeding to seat belt use.

Additional enforcement efforts will be conducted on various roadways in the City of Bowie focused on deterring aggressive driving, distracted driving, impaired driving, and protecting pedestrian safety.
