
CALIFORNIA, Md. – On Monday, July 27, 2026, at approximately 1:30 a.m., troopers from the Leonardtown Barrack responded to the Wildewood Community Center, located at 23060 Wildewood Drive, California, MD, for the report of an assault and shots fired. Troopers from the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division responded to investigate.
Investigators are now asking the community for assistance. If anyone in the Wildewood community has a home security system, they are asked to review any events that may have occurred around the time of the incident. In addition to home security systems, if you were driving in the area near the time of the incident and have a camera in your car, please review any events from around the time of the incident.
