NORTH BEACH, Md. — The world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales are returning to North Beach to help the town celebrate the holiday season. Here’s how you can meet the team.

North Beach is excited to welcome the Clydesdales back to town on Tuesday, Dec. 16. The Clydesdales will arrive and stage on 3rd Street from 2 to 2:30 p.m. They will depart 3rd Street at 4 p.m. and parade through the town.

All are invited to enjoy the Clydesdales as the team makes their way through North Beach, with three planned stops at Neptune’s Seafood Pub, the Waterfront Pavilion and the Wheelhouse Beer Garden.

The town encourages families to come out, take photos and enjoy this unique holiday experience. Officials advise that residents and visitors should expect traffic delays along Chesapeake Avenue, Bay Avenue and 3rd and 7th streets during the event.

Clydesdales have long served as a symbol for the company. Throughout the year, teams travel around the country to participate in parades and events. These “gentle giants” are the second-largest breed of horse in the world, known for their strength and distinctive hairy hooves.

According to the Budweiser website, a team of dedicated handlers oversees the horses’ care for travel. Ten horses, the famous red, white and gold beer wagon, and other essential equipment are transported in three 50-foot tractor-trailers. Cameras mounted in the trailers are connected to monitors in the cabs that enable the drivers to keep a watchful eye on their precious cargo during transport. Air-cushioned suspension and thick rubber flooring in the trailers ease the rigors of traveling. The team also stops at local stables for the horses to rest and recharge, making this special event a local effort.

If you miss the North Beach event, you can catch the Clydesdales in Annapolis on Dec. 17 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., when they lead the Military Bowl Parade.
