UPPER MARLBORO, Md. – Calvert County Public Schools held their 2024 graduation ceremonies through June 5 and 6. Each graduation was held at the Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro.
To kick off the ceremonies Patuxent High School held their graduation ceremony early afternoon on June 5 followed by Huntingtown High School. Northern and Calvert High Schools held their ceremonies on June 6.

“You have worked hard to reach this milestone and your dedication and perseverance have paid off. As you move on to the next chapter of your lives, stay true to yourselves and keep pursuing your goals and dreams,” stated CCPS Superintendent Andrae Townsel during Patuxent’s commencement.
Townsel then had every graduate raise their right hand as high as they could. Townsel noted that when he initially asked, everyone seemed to hold back until he asked again.
“What was that about? Everyone held back. What are you holding back for? Why not give it your best on your first try? In life, you cannot hold back. When you graduate and you go out into society you cannot hold back on achieving your goals. You cannot hold back on personal development, you cannot hold back on building relationships, you cannot hold back on being productive. You have to go all in. I’m talking about leaving no regrets,” said Townsel.

“Congratulations once again class of 2024, make the rest of your life, the best of your life. I want you to set the bar, meet the bar, exceed the bar, and raise the bar.”

is it 2006 or 2007 the year we’re dealing with? the conceptions that occured in 2006/ the pregnancys in 2007… those that were aborted won’t get to graduate. Their mothers know who they are, their grandparents, dads, aunt/ uncles might know.
With a roll of my eye , did Dr. Andraรฉ Townsel make any speeches this year ?
I hope not , I was in agony listening to him last year ..
The ” worst” as stated , was a consensus of the many .
