The Calvert County Department of Public Safety, through the Emergency Management Division, will conduct follow-up testing of the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant siren in the Tobacco Ridge Road area of Prince Frederick at noon Thursday, July 5.
The siren was repaired after damage was discovered from the June 29 storm. The testing is part of an ongoing effort to ensure Calvert County is able to alert citizens in the event of an incident at the power plant.
The test includes a three-minute activation of the siren. All citizens are asked to remember the scheduled testing and relay the information to friends, family and neighbors.
If the sirens sound at any other time, residents should tune to one of the local radio stations listed below for information and instructions. Contact the Calvert County Division of Emergency Management at 410-535-1600, ext. 2638, for additional emergency or disaster preparedness information.
