PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. โ€“ April 23, 2020 โ€“ Calvert County Government offices will reopen Monday, April 27 at 8:30 a.m.; however, buildings will remain closed to the public until further notice, as a precautionary measure to slow the spread of COVID-19. The county remains under a local state of emergency.

โ€œThe closure period has given us time to focus on responding to this crisis while reducing the health risk to county staff and their families, so we can safely and effectively provide services to citizens โ€“ but now is not the time to become complacent,โ€ said Board of County Commissioners President Kelly McConkey. โ€œStaff have worked diligently over the past weeks to adjust protocols and prepare to safely reopen county government offices to employees, in accordance with health and distancing guidelines. We are proud of their commitment during this unprecedented challenge. Let us all stay the course and look out for one another, and we will get through this.โ€

In accordance with statewide mandate, all senior centers and community centers remain closed. Some county parks remain open to Calvert County residents for passive activities only, such as walking, biking, running and hiking; limited park hours and other restrictions on park use and capacity are still in effect. Additionally, public transportation will operate with reduced service.
