PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — Deputies from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Motor Unit joined hundreds of riders Aug. 14–17 in the 25th annual America’s 9/11 Ride, a four-day event that retraced the sites of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

The ride began at the Flight 93 National Memorial in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, before continuing to the Pentagon and New York City. Deputies provided escort support as the convoy of more than 300 motorcycles traveled through towns and highways, greeted by residents waving flags and lining streets.

One rider told Yahoo News the atmosphere was “extremely patriotic,” while another called the journey “a bucket list ride.” Organizers said the event remains both a remembrance and a commitment to supporting today’s first responders.

Photos from the sheriff’s office show deputies standing with their motorcycles at the Flight 93 site and guiding the procession through city streets, including Times Square in New York. Along the route, fire departments displayed massive American flags from ladder trucks in tribute.

The America’s 911 Foundation, which hosts the ride, also provides scholarships for children of active first responders, continuing its mission to give back while preserving the memory of those lost on 9/11.
