Calvert High School Principal Susan B. Johnson reported Tuesday evening the following letter to parents that the lingering water problem at Calvert High School, which was  a result of a main well pump replacement, has been cleared up. 


CHS/CCC Families,

Tuck Powers, Director of School Facilities, informed me today that the water test was negative for bacteria.

This is a welcome relief.

The Maryland Department of the Environment/Water Management Administration has deemed “the water free from coliform bacteria and safe to drink”.

We will re-connect water fountains and return our water system to normal operating status effective Wednesday morning.

We thank you for your patience in dealing with this situation.  We encourage you to remind your students that we are back on normal operating procedures, and bottled water will only be allowed in classrooms for the remainder of the year.
