The Calvert Marine Museum will once again offer girls the opportunity to earn badges at the museum. Special programs are available on Sundays for individuals or troops at all levels beginning in October.

Brownie Try-Its run from 10 a.m. to noon, and 1 to 3 p.m. and include the following topics: Lighthouse on Oct. 5, Animals on Nov. 16, Science in Action on Jan. 4, 2009, Plants on March 22, 2009, and Movers on April 19, 2009.

For Junior Girl Scouts, the badge sessions run from 9:30 a.m. to noon, and 1 to 3:30 p.m. and include Lighthouse on Oct. 19, The Chesapeake Bay on Nov. 2, Rocks Rock on Jan. 25, 2009, The Chesapeake Bay on Feb. 1, 2009, and Plants and Animals on March 8, 2009. At the Cadette level, the more stringent requirements take a full day session to complete, running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Museum Explorer interest project will be on February 22, 2009, and Lighthouse is scheduled April 26, 2009.

The fee for the Brownie and Junior badges is $10 per girl, and includes museum admission. Cadette workshops are $15 per person. Space is limited to 20 girls, and pre-registration is required.
