The Calvert County Health Departmentโs Crisis Intervention Center, in conjunction with the Calvert County Sheriffโs Office, has begun a new Volunteer Advocate Program for victims of domestic violence.ย
David Gale, Director, and Phyllis Poole, Program Coordinator, of the Crisis Intervention Center have enlisted Patti Scroggins of the Sheriffโs Office as the new Volunteer Advocate Coordinator.ย The Crisis Intervention Center is seeking volunteers to provide assistance to victims applying for and obtaining Protective/Peace Orders, a safety planning check list, referrals to community resources, information about the criminal justice system and alternate safe housing for the victim and his/her pet.ย
Shift rotations are from 4 p.m. to 8 a.m. M-F and one weekend per month.ย Background checks required.ย Training provided.ย
