The Calvert County Health Departmentโ€™s Crisis Intervention Center, in conjunction with the Calvert County Sheriffโ€™s Office, has begun a new Volunteer Advocate Program for victims of domestic violence.ย 

David Gale, Director, and Phyllis Poole, Program Coordinator, of the Crisis Intervention Center have enlisted Patti Scroggins of the Sheriffโ€™s Office as the new Volunteer Advocate Coordinator.ย  The Crisis Intervention Center is seeking volunteers to provide assistance to victims applying for and obtaining Protective/Peace Orders, a safety planning check list, referrals to community resources, information about the criminal justice system and alternate safe housing for the victim and his/her pet.ย 

Shift rotations are from 4 p.m. to 8 a.m. M-F and one weekend per month.ย  Background checks required.ย  Training provided.ย
