At approximately 3 p.m. yesterday, Friday, August 28, a car caught fire in a central Lexington Park parking lot on Great Mills Road.
Bay District Volunteer Fire Department responded to the vehicle fire and were able to extinguish it before it spread to other vehicles. The fire seemed to have started under the hood of the car. Further details are not yet available.
