Waldorf Volunteer Firefighters responded to a car fire near Lexington Drive at 9:27 p.m. July 27. Within 5 minutes the blaze was put under control.

Maryland Deputy Fire Marshal Don Brenneman reports the victim’s 1992 Nissan Sentra was discovered by a citizen about 75 yards into a wooded area, fully engulfed in flames.

The Charles County Sheriff’s Office contacted the owner, Adolfa Guerra, and the investigation is currently being investigated by the Office of State Fire Marshal.

Investigation revealed the fire was intentionally set from inside the vehicle.

The loss was estimated at $2,000.
